Scientific disciplines in biology and molecular approaches have revealed the potential for new drugs and treatments, however, there are nonetheless important gaps within the enabling technologies and supporting medical technology devices which need addressing. These future applied sciences require the skillsets of a various tutorial base crossing many scientific and engineering communities. To deliver new approaches to the clinic, many facets of the sphere should be determined and outlined to the requirements and rigour of the scientific, regulatory and clinical communities. What incentives would encourage increased support of post-marketing analysis for medication and devices? This research may provide data on their effectiveness and long-term security for permitted indications, as well as a method for monitoring the emergence of new indications of use.
